Please join us for an evening of food, conversation, awards, and words from our keynote speaker, Mr. Jonathan Smith, Executive Director of the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs. Mr. Smith will speak on police misconduct in relation to the civil rights movement from the 1960's to today and why Black Lives Matter is part of that legacy. Mr. Smith will also be leading a public lecture at 5:00pm on the Department of Justice investigation of the Ferguson Police Department and the role of Activism in Ferguson that is open to the public.
